Staff to Pets. Reassurance to Humans.
Your pet's personal correspondent while you're away.
Every drop-in visit includes a personalised Whisker Watch Report, with the important updates, plenty of photos, funny stories, and all the little moments that make being away from your pet that little bit easier.
Hi, I’m Pauline!
I’m the human behind Pauline's Whisker Watch, lifelong cat person and lover of all the wonderfully weird personalities that come with every whisker, wag and zoomie.
Over the years, I've been lucky enough to care for quite a cast of endearing characters, from confident cuddle monsters and professional sofa-hiders to enthusiastic tail-waggers who believe every walk is a grand adventure.
Alongside pet sitting, I've spent several years volunteering with the RSPCA, fostering over 30 cats with a whole range of medical and behavioural needs. Whether they needed medication, careful monitoring, a little extra patience, or simply a safe place to land before finding their forever homes, it's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Through it all, one thing has always stayed the same: no two pets read from the same instruction manual. Some demand cuddles, some demand snacks, and some simply demand that I exist quietly in the same room.
Whatever their personality, my job is simple:
to keep your pets happy, comfortable and safe while giving you one less thing to worry about... and hopefully one more thing to smile about.
Every Visit Includes...
Thoughtful care comes as standard. A little personality comes free!
🍽️ Treat Negotiator
Whether dinner is enthusiastically inhaled or requires lengthy negotiations, I'll make sure your pet is fed according to their routine. Treats are distributed strictly in line with your instructions... no matter how convincing the begging.
🎾Director of Zoomies
From feather wands to crinkly mice or a random piece of shoelace, every cat has their favourite way to play. I'll happily join in until they decide the game is over… which, as every cat owner knows, could be anywhere between seven seconds and thirty minutes.
🤝 Professional Cat Diplomat
Some cats greet me at the door like old friends. Others prefer to conduct a thorough background check from under the sofa. Either way, I'll let them set the pace and earn their trust on their terms.
🩺 Wellness Watch
I'll always keep an eye on how your pet is eating, drinking and behaving, and I'll let you know if anything seems out of the ordinary. If medication is part of their routine, I'll administer it carefully and exactly as instructed.
🛋️ Calming Companion
Not every visit is about playtime. Sometimes the best thing I can offer is a calm, familiar presence while they enjoy a nap, a window watch or simply having someone nearby.
🏡 Home Sweet Home
While I'm there, I'm happy to bring in the post, water your plants, open or close curtains, take out the bins, and generally make your home look lived-in while you're away.
And once the visit's over?
That's when the storytelling begins... 📝
Whisker Watch Reports
Every visit has a story.
Some are stories of ambitious biscuit-making, curious cardboard box investigations and intense staring contests with absolutely nothing. Others are slow-burning dramas about whether today's nap belongs on the sofa or the bed. And then there are the adventures involving sniffaris, wagging tails and the discovery of what was, quite possibly, the most interesting stick in Cambridge.
Every Whisker Watch Report is written just for you.
Whether you enjoy every amusing detail or simply want to know everyone's happy, healthy and fed, I'm happy to tailor the updates to suit you.
The reports tell the story. The photos bring it to life.
By the end of your time away, you'll probably have a collection of sunbeam naps, perfectly timed bleps, wonderfully judgemental expressions, enthusiastic zoomies, elegant stretches and at least one spectacularly blurry action shot where your pet moved at exactly the wrong moment.
Whether you'd like every photo or just a carefully chosen few, I'll make sure you don't miss the moments that matter.

Hello from home 👋
Muffin should be renamed Mischief 🤣
When I arrived, he was behind the door and meowed at me to hurry up - I apparently took too long to take a moment and appreciate the new flowers and pots around! 🌸🌼
He welcomed me with open paws and tried to stop me from putting on my slippers (I'm guessing because this would delay breakfast by 0.7 seconds 🤣)
He hadn't eaten dry food, which I found odd, but then quickly figured out why that was.... As you'll see from the video, there was a break in! A treats theft from the cupboard 🙀
No wonder Muffin wasn't too hungry 🤣
I picked everything up and put the open (decimated) packets in a Tupperware in the kitchen. Litter cleared and fresh water given!
Muffin's window throne seems to be upside down? Couldn't figure out why that was, so I've left it as is!
Muffin and I had some cuddles on the couch before I left 😊
Always an entertaining visit with him! 😝

Well this has been an entertaining and anxiety inducing visit 🤣
When I arrived, I saw that there was evidence of an attack under the table... Feathers spread out everywhere. I instantly suspected Pinky of murder ! 🙀
I had a look around and couldn't find the body of the poor bird, so I went to prepare food and top everything up.
Then, I saw Pinky roaming around the dinner table so I got suspicious and low and behold... She had not murdered the poor bird, he was held captive up on the shelves!
I had to Macgyver a way to get the bird to safety - if you saw me flailing around on the camera, I'm sure you laughed 🤣
After several attempts, and as many screams from me, I managed to save the bird! Much to Pinky's dismay! She wasn't very happy with me!

Hello from home 👋
The ladies were very excited when I arrived, and we immediately went out in the garden for some sun time 🌞 on the lounger - I got many kisses from Swift, and even a few from Wednesday, who absolutely wanted the lounger to herself 😝
Swift was very determined today - determined to set a fast pace, and determined to not want to pose for photos! Every time I took my phone out, she would bark! Hence why she looks like she's in the middle of an opera session on most of the photos 😂
We had a long walk and were even behind schedule for Wednesday's walk!
Wednesday was less determined than her sister, wanting to casually and slowly walk towards the grassy patch near the road, then circle back 🔙😊
The ladies got fresh water and a treat before it was time to go 🤩

Today's incident report concerns theft and criminal damage 🥷
The crime involved extracting a bin bag from the bin, ripping it open, and attempting to recover empty Churu packets. Investigators believe this was a sophisticated joint operation.
😱
Two suspects have been identified: Benedict & Sebastian. Both deny involvement. Both were present at the scene. Both looked extremely pleased with themselves. Unfortunately, the suspects are protected by overwhelming levels of cuteness, making prosecution difficult.
I will continue to monitor the situation 😝

Pauline was truly incredible and I honestly couldn’t recommend her enough. She cared for my cats with so much love, patience, and understanding, completely adapting to their individual personalities. My nervous boy, was gently won over thanks to her calm approach (and a grooming glove!), while my adventurous girl, was given the time and space she needed to feel confident and come over for attention. Pauline played with their toys, left the sweetest treats with smiley faces, and went above and beyond in every way. It was so clear that she genuinely adores cats and treats them like her own. I felt completely at ease knowing my babies were in such caring hands - I truly couldn’t have found a better cat sitter and will absolutely be booking her again.
“Pauline is amazing — I cannot recommend her enough. She sends regular, lovely and hilarious updates from babysitting our little kitten that not only made us laugh out loud but kept us content that she was in safe hands. Don’t hesitate to book her!”
— Slug’s human
“I can't imagine a better cat sitter than Pauline. She's caring and conscientious and cats love her. Not to mention that she also clearly loves cats! …”

I can't imagine a better cat sitter than Pauline. She's caring and conscientious and cats love her. Not to mention that she also clearly loves cats! My cat Flash took to her immediately and started affectionately nuzzling her the moment the two of them met. Once on the job, Pauline followed my instructions to a tee, and even stayed extra time once after Flash vomited. She's also very good about sending me daily detailed reports, as well as lots of lovely photographs. When I come home after my trip, the house is spotless and the cat is happy. I've used Pauline repeatedly, and will definitely use her again. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
“Pauline is such a lovely walker, she is very attentive and caring, always kept me updated with photos and any issues while walking my dog! I would recommend Pauline to any pet owners, you can really tell she loves animals”
— Lola's human
“I’m not exaggerating when I say that Pauline is gifted with cats. Our cat Bess is generally avoidant and hides from anyone she doesn’t know. She immediately made friends with Pauline, and the photo updates during our trip were equally reassuring and hilarious. Pauline is now officially known in our house as ‘the Bess whisperer’. Fabulous!”

“Pauline is without a doubt the best sitter I’ve ever had! I highly recommend her for your fur babies. Her updates were not only detailed but also hilariously entertaining, complete with adorable photos of my little guy. I felt incredibly at ease knowing she was looking after my cat. Thank you so much, Pauline. I’ll definitely be booking with you again in the future!”

Whisker Watch moments
Planning your Whisker Watch visit
30-minute drop-in visit
£14
The visit most pets choose. Plenty of time for all the essentials, a little play, walk or company, and whatever else your pet decides is important that day.
60-minute drop-in visit
£22
Sometimes half an hour flies by. If your pet would enjoy a little extra company, a longer walk or a more leisurely visit, this option leaves a little more time for all their favourite things.
Something different?
Not every pet fits neatly into a time slot. If you have a very independent outdoor cat, a shy pet who'd prefer a quick check-in, or you're looking for something a little different, just get in touch. We'll find the option that suits them best.
Three or more sets of whiskers?
There's a small additional charge - see Multiple Pets below for the details.
Need more than one visit?
Whether your pet would like one visit a day, two check-ins, or a mixture of visit lengths, I'm happy to tailor a routine that works for both of you.
First introductions
The first visit is always easier when I'm already a familiar face.
Before confirming the booking, I'll come and meet you and your pet(s). We'll chat through routines, keys and all the practical bits, while your pet(s) carry out the all-important approval process. Some welcome me at the door like old friends, whilst others prefer to observe from a carefully chosen hiding spot. However they choose to say hello, I'm happy to let them set the pace.
If life gets in the way, we can always arrange a video call instead.
Completely free, with no obligation.
🛡️ Fully insured with Protectivity
🧳 When the pet sitter needs a holiday too...
Every now and then, I have to pack my own bags!
Dates I’ll be away:
🐾 From the afternoon of 5 October to 14 October 2026
🐾 16 December to the morning of 29 December 2026
For all other dates, get in touch and I’ll check my diary.
A few helpful Whisker Watch details
-
Whisker Watch is based in Orchard Park.
To make sure I can travel between visits reliably and give every Whisker Watch family the time they deserve, I keep my adventures fairly local - usually within around 10-12 minutes of home.
I currently cover:
Orchard Park • King's Hedges • Arbury • Eddington • Histon • parts of Impington • Franklin Gardens • Darwin Green • parts of Girton, Chesterton & Castle
If you're nearby but aren't quite sure whether you fall within my Whisker Watch patch, just ask - I'll always do my best to help.
-
Between Whisker Watch visits, my human office work and foster kitties, who quite reasonably insist they deserve some attention too, there's a little bit of juggling behind the scenes.
I don't offer fixed appointment times, but morning visits are usually completed before 10:00 and afternoon visits before 18:00. If your pet has a particular routine, I'll always do my best to work around it.
Medication, naturally, gets to boss the schedule around a little. If it needs to be given at, before or after a particular time, let me know and I'll plan their visit around it as closely as possible.
-
The more, the merrier! My prices are per visit, with one or two cats happily included. For households with three or more, there's a small £2 charge for each additional cat - a few more whiskers usually means a little more to fit into the visit.
As long as everyone's food, fuss, litter duties, playtime and other important business fits comfortably into the visit, we'll stick with your chosen visit length. If you've got a particularly full house, we might decide a longer visit gives everyone the time they deserve.
For multiple dogs being walked together, there may be a small additional charge depending on what's involved, but we'll always agree that before you book.
-
Even a well-planned trip can throw in the occasional plot twist! If you need to move, change or cancel your booking before it begins, just let me know as soon as you can and we'll work it out.
If your plans change once your booking is already underway, I’ll still try to be as flexible as I can.
Any visits due within 48 hours of receiving your cancellation will remain non-refundable, as that time has already been set aside for the whiskers. Any visits after that can be refunded, if you wish.
If you're running late setting off, just send me a message as soon as you know. There's usually a carefully planned Whisker Watch round already in motion, so I can't always shuffle your visit to later in the day. I don't carry out visits while you're still at home, and if that means your scheduled visit can't go ahead, it will still count towards your booking.
And if it's the journey home that doesn't quite go to plan, let me know as soon as you can. Delayed trains, traffic and travel hiccups happen, and I'll always do my best to squeeze in an extra visit if my Whisker Watch round allows, so your pets aren't left waiting too long for their humans to reappear.
-
Just like pet routines, every home's a little different. We'll agree the easiest way for me to access yours while you're away, whether that's with a key, key safe or another arrangement that works for you.
Any keys left in my care will be kept safe and never labelled with your name or address. Once you're home, I can return them as agreed, or, if you're becoming a Whisker Watch regular, I'm happy to keep them safely tucked away for next time.
-
Some dates are a little more sought-after in the Whisker Watch calendar, so a small additional charge applies for Bank holidays, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day.
These can be particularly busy Whisker Watch days, so I give myself a little more wiggle room when planning my rounds. Morning visits may be completed by 11:00 and afternoon visits by 19:00. As always, time-sensitive medication will be taken into account when planning the day.
-
Hopefully, every Whisker Watch visit is wonderfully uneventful - but it's important to have a plan for the unexpected. If I'm ever concerned about your pet while you're away, I'll contact you and/or your emergency contact straight away.
If I can't reach you and I believe they need veterinary attention, I'll contact their usual vet or an emergency vet as appropriate.
You pack the bags, I'll watch the Whiskers.
Booking & Payment
To book or enquire, just email me!
paulineswhiskerwatch@gmail.com
Payment is usually made before your booking begins. If you're new to Whisker Watch and would feel more comfortable splitting your first payment, just let me know, we'll work something out.
Not quite ready to book directly?
I completely understand that trusting someone new with your pets (and your keys!) is a big deal. If you'd feel more comfortable using a known platform for your first booking, you can also find me on Rover, along with more reviews from previous paw-rents.
Just bear in mind that booking through Rover comes with additional platform fees for you, and Rover also takes a percentage of my booking fee. If that little bit of extra reassurance is worth it for your first booking, though, the option is always there.

I hope our paths - and paws - cross soon!
